Let’s Pretend - A Half Day in the Life (Summer Edition)

One of my favorite sessions I photograph are my Day in the Life sessions. With these family sessions I capture the true essence of your family and your children. I immerse myself into your families story. I can come capture your family in your home or join you in some of your favorite family moments. You can learn more about how to book these sessions or our very special Year in the Life Sessions.

This family session is titled “Let’s Pretend” because every time we switched rooms or activities the kids would start with Let’s Pretend… I followed the M family for 6 hours from the wee early morning when the dew soaked our toes in the grass. The story begins with a search for a frog/toad that they saw the night before and we were on search of their little buddy again. We started with searching in the trees in front of their home and then moved on to the garden where they picked wild strawberries in hopes of tempting their froggy friend to come out.

From the frog hunt it was naturally time to hit up their outdoor kitchen for breakfast. The also started a drive through delivery service. Even their pup joined in for the morning breakfast at their diner. Although I think he preferred real breakfast.

We then went inside where mom was with the newest family member making delicious pancakes. Of course mom worked her magic which holding onto her 1 month old. Breakfast went quickly before it was time to play again. We started with dressing up as a butterfly and flying around from couch to couch and then they decided to give me a tour of the house. We ended up on the top floor which was once their parents office now like all of us… another toy room. This is where we got the next Let’s Pretend… we were on a treasure hunt. They made their own treasure maps and put it in one of their mom’s vases before they hopped on the “Boat” bed in search of the treasure.

After that it was back outside to continue looking for our frog friend, and building him a home so when he did come back he had a safe place. They played a game on the back of the tractor where their pup even helped them. And then had our own little outdoor campfire without the fire in the woods where we were visited by the sleeping bag caterpillars. It was a fun day that mixed so much imagination and intimate moments of the littles with their parents.
