Hi, I’m Kathy!
Twenty years ago, I photographed my first wedding and I can still remember the photo that hooked me to wedding photography.The bride’s three daughters, all flower girls, came running toward her and knocked her straight to the floor. Everyone fell into laughter. The photo was pure joy! A tiny completely unplanned moment between a mom and her daughters as they started the next chapter of their lives. I knew then this is what I want to do. I want to capture the real moments.
I have had the privilege of working with amazing couples and their families. I have photographed more than 500 weddings and elopements across 20+ states and four continents. From a 500-person Greek wedding on the island of Chios, to sunrise elopements at the Lincoln Memorial, mountain-top vows, wild backyard parties, a safari wedding in Kenya, and even a wedding surrounded by penguins in Antarctica.
Along the way, my documentary photography and portraits have won international awards, including being ranked among the top three wedding photographers internationally. I have had an amazing career and I am no where near done!
Twenty years later, I’m still looking for the same thing I saw in that very first wedding: The moments you couldn’t plan if you tried.

I don’t want your wedding day to feel like an photoshoot. I want you to actually live it. I’m there for the big moments, but I’m always watching for everything happening around them the ridiculous laughs, ugly cries, quiet glances, family chaos, dance-floor insanity, and all the little moments you didn’t even know were happening. When it’s time for portraits, I’ll give you direction, find great light, and create something epic without making you feel like someone you’re not.
Big wedding, tiny elopement, ballroom, backyard, mountaintop, or halfway around the world, the goal is the same: photos that feel like you.
From “I do” to everything after
For 20 years, I've photographed couples starting new chapters together. And somewhere along the way, those wedding days became anniversaries, growing families, babies, kids, teenagers, pets and a whole lot more life.
I want to photograph that stuff, too ! The chaos, the personalities, the milestones, and the ordinary days you'll eventually miss.

Thirty minutes dedicated to you and your favorite four-legged family member. Dogs, cats, and other beloved creatures welcome! We'll capture their personality, your relationship, and probably a little bit of chaos—because perfect behavior is definitely not required.

Two hours to slow down, hang out and let me photograph your family being your family. We'll mix real documentary moments with beautiful portraits, so you get the laughs, chaos and little in-between moments plus the photographs everyone actually looks at the camera for.

I've photographed weddings and elopements across more than 20 states and four continents from intimate Washington DC celebrations to a 500-person Greek wedding on the island of Chios, a safari wedding in Kenya, and even a wedding surrounded by penguins in Antarctica.
My documentary photography and portraits have earned international awards, but the photographs I remember most aren't necessarily the ones that won anything.
They're the ones nobody could have planned.
The ridiculous laugh. The parent who completely loses it. The kid doing something they're definitely not supposed to be doing. The five seconds of quiet in the middle of absolute chaos.
Those are the photographs that become more valuable with time.
