Hollie & David got married at the beautiful Overhills Mansion in Catonsville, Maryland at the very end of June. I had such a blast with them during our Four Seasons engagement session I was excited to see what I would be in for on their wedding day... One of the first things I saw when I walked into the room Hollie was getting ready in was a 5 pound bag of gummy bears. Hollie's mom said oh those are for the vodka . Little did I know how amazing of a party it would be.
Hollie & David first met in confirmation class in 7th grade and were confirmed together. They had several classes together in high school before graduating together in 2007. They bumped into each other in Annapolis several times, but the time was not yet right.
One November evening, after long days at work, They ran into each other at the self checkout in Giant. Hollie covered in tomato sauce was hoping to get in and out of the store without anyone seeing her. Of course there right behind her in line was David. After a little conversation that exchanged numbers and headed home. David teased her in texts about stalking him on the way home since she was following right behind him.
A year and a half later, they were on our second trip to Aruba. David got down on one knee at the top of a lighthouse during the Aruban sunset and popped the question with an heirloom ring. The ring contained the diamond his Granddad used to propose to his Oma in 1958. The diamond was later placed in a miniature of a Naval Academy class ring. The day after the proposal, we watched jewelers in Aruba place the diamond in a setting of Hollie's choice. The gold from the class ring is being used to craft our wedding bands.

Both the guys and the girls got ready in Overhills Mansion. I have to give a shout out to Hollie's amazing Man of Honor... her brother Brian who was on the job for both the guys and the girls for the day. He made sure the ladies had starbucks and the guys had a beer they feel in love with during the bachelor party that was only available in Virginia.
While the guys got ready playing foosball, air hockey, shoving Bobby into a Men's Warehouse bag, and practicing their Risky business moves across the floor. The girls soaked gummy bears in vodka and enjoyed a morning of beauty treatments, and foosball with an orange.
Hollie and David's nervous energy was apparent as we got ready for their first look...
"Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer . Not a trace, of doubt in my mind. I'm in love, and I'm a believer. I couldn't leave her if I tried . " - I'm a Believer- Smash Mouth- Shrek
I asked Hollie what her favorite moment from the wedding was and she came back with two moments.
"When you had us stand in the field and say our vows to each other." This year I've started bringing couples back to them. With all the hustle and bustle of a wedding it's important to get back to the reason of why we are really there. It's about the two of them. I give couples a chance to say their own vows to each other. Words straight from their heart.
One of David's favorite moments from the wedding was the first time he saw Hollie during the first look. And then again as she was walking down the aisle.
How much do you trust your groomsmen? If I have a good wedding party I will test the water to see if I can have them do a few wild shots. For this photo I had David crowd dive into his groomsmen's arms. They caught him! Phew!!
After this crazy shot they all did a shot together... Word to the wise... do not run while doing a shot with lemon juice... odds are you will spill it and it may end up in your eye and burn... Alot !
Hollie & David had an awesome reception. The floor was so packed we had to move the tables back! There was so much wild and crazy dancing that I picked over 100 favorites just from the reception.
There were two more favorite moments of Hollie & David's from the reception.
First Hollie's - "When the Dj announced the dance floor was open and it was immediately packed. "
Then David's - "When the guests shouted "one more song" and the DJ ended with Shout."
Congratulations to Hollie & David! Your wedding seriously rocked! I hope you are having the time of your life in Hawaii!
