I'm on a boat ! A Lake Worth wedding - Ft. Worth Texas

Photography by Kathy with Love & Adventure Photo

When Kim contacted me and said I want you to photograph my wedding and it's going to be on the Lake that we live on in Texas. I said that sounds awesome! Tell me more.

She then told me how it was going to be very untraditional. They wanted to get married on their boat on Lake Worth with all their friends on a boat too. I was really excited because I love adventure weddings and I knew Kim would be up for anything.

Until just recently Kim and Greg have been traveling back and forth from Houston to Lake Worth to be together. Greg has a lake house on Lake Worth and Kim has a job in Houston. Kim would make the long haul so that she could spend a relaxing weekend with all her loves, Greg, a few pups, and their boat!

Kim and Greg taught me the meaning of Lake Life... and I have to say I left very jealous. I want to live a Lake life too! They spend as much time as possible on their boat. Whether it's a beautiful weekend or after a rough day at work they can just go out on their boat and everything is ok. The two of them have learned to read each other. When Greg came home from work one day Kim could tell it was a rough day so she grabbed the keys and their wake boards and let him wake board it out while she drove the boat around.

They wanted to incorporate their life into their wedding day... Hence... They got married on a boat! This was by far the coolest wedding I ever photographed and I got to do it in my bathing suit.

Kim and Greg both got ready together in the lake house. Friends helped out with her hair and make-up while Greg carefully made sure each hair of his own was gelled in place. They did their first look and had a moment together on the dock. Kim had an amazing two piece dress that she wore over her bathing suit. Greg also looked great in his White Linen suit... That would be lake washed accidentally the next day. (Check out their day after session to see what I mean!)

The guests started arriving to their Kim & Greg's dock by boat. Neighbors and close friends from around the Lake showed up grabbed a few bottles of Champagne and headed over to the island where they would tie their boats together for the ceremony. After everyone was tied up and ready to go Kim and Greg's closest friend Brian officiated the most amazing ceremony! The ceremony was emotional and just really cool. After the kiss champagne bottles were popped and corks were flying everywhere.

I photographed the entire ceremony and after ceremony party from in the water! That was a first for me but it was so much fun. The only thing I really had to worry about were random warm spots in the water...

After the ceremony and drinking on the beach we all headed back to a friends house for a BBQ and a little more drinking. The dogs may have stole the show here...
