A Witchy Romantic Fall Halloween Backyard Wedding - Maryland Wedding

Photography by Love and Adventure Photography

We have an anniversary special today! Brianna & John got married last year at the perfect wickedly romantic wedding ever. If you know me then you know I am a huge fan of Halloween and all the beautiful decor that goes with it. Their wedding was more than I could have imagined. I honestly would love to have my house look like this year round. Brianna, John, and their families went above and beyond with their vision. From the tent that had stunning fall vides with hanging branches and beautiful maroon and bronze decor…then you went inside where every nook and cranny was filled with vintage witch photos, potion bottles, bats, a thundering cloud over candlelight, and even a devils den with fireball shots. The food was amazing. It was in courses starting with a delicious stew in a bread bowl, and then a Thanksgiving Sandwich, with the most delicious chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I was seriously obsessed with all the details.

While their details for their wedding were the best I’ve ever seen in 15 years of photographing wedding Brianna & John’s wedding was so much more. Brianna’s dad walked her down the aisle for a first look with John in front of the alter they designed, while all their immediate family watched. The emotions were high on both sides. Brianna’s mom and step dad are amazing photographers and booked me based on my documentary work . Well, they gave me plenty of emotion to capture the perfect photos telling the story of their day including a beautiful moment where Brianna’s mom looked at John’s dad as he was tearing up at the first look. Probably one of my favorite photos ever.

As guests arrived Brianna & John peeked at them through the blinds, waiting for the ceremony to begin. Together they walked down the candle lit aisle to a sunset ceremony in under the tree in Brianna’s childhood backyard. They started the ceremony with a toast to their guests and proceeded to flip a coin to decide who would go first with their vows. After the ceremony was over it was time to party.

Did I mention that John is also in a band… And they are amazing… He even broke out the fiddle for Devil Went Down to Georgia. It was seriously incredible. (Their Band name is the Bards and if you are looking for a wedding band I highly recommend them! John’s musical talents are obviously inherited… as he and his whole family sang for Brianna and her dad’s dance. It was seriously the most perfect wedding. Brianna & John were a blast to work with and I still can’t believe how beautifully they and their families pulled off this wicked wedding!
